It was a privilege for two of the Trustees of the League of Friends to be invited by the hospital to participate in the annual PLACE assessment.

PLACE is Patient Led Assessment of the Care Environment; it is an annual snapshot that gives hospitals a clear picture of how their environment is seen by those using it, and how they can improve it. PLACE assessments only look at the buildings and related non-clinical services like catering.

We were bowled over by the high standard of EVERYTHING we experienced – the external areas, the ward, the communal areas and the food. The patients and carers of South Petherton Community Hospital are extremely fortunate to have such a fabulous hospital to attend to our health needs.
