50 Books ordered to support children

In the weeks and months after a parent has a stroke or brain injury, families are usually under a considerable amount of strain. We are pleased to have funded the purchase of 50 books that are written to help children adjust to things that might be different at home and adjust to those changes.

Dr Adam Bevins, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, Stroke and Neurological Rehabilitation, applied to the League of Friends for fresh copies of ‘My Parent has a Brain Injury’ by Jo Johnson. In the past, he has found them to be a helpful tool in supporting young people to understand the impact of brain injury or stroke on a parent.
