New leaflet shows the impact of your donations

The League of Friends has been making a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of our hospital community for decades. In our brand new leaflet, you can read how the donations we receive are used to add tremendous value to the patient, carer or staff experience.

Here’s some heartening feedback to our work from the hospital team:

“We are very lucky to have the help and support of the League of Friends and value their contribution greatly. They provide specialist items of equipment that are used across the entire hospital, supporting many of the teams that work within the inpatient and outpatient departments.” Matron

“The purchase of a portable ultrasound machine has enabled us to improve the equity of provision for individuals with spasticity after a stroke and other neurological disorders. It has improved the quality of our treatment and the timeliness of intervention and will lead to better patient and service outcomes.” Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist for Stroke and Acquired Brain Injury

“We are grateful to the League of Friends for funding weighing pat slide scales which have had a positive impact for our patients. This kit ensures that patients are weighed with dignity and respect on their admission to the ward.”  Senior Sister

Some key equipment and services the League of Friends have recently purchased, include:

  • Leg press machine

  • Pressure mattresses
  • Bariatric riser/recliner chair
  • Booklet for carers
