Access to good quality health services is a determinant of health, so too are positive relationships with friends and communities. The Christmas Fair at South Petherton Community Hospital certainly showed people sharing the best of times. A BIG THANK YOU to the wonderful team who organised the event with so much energy, creativity and commitment!
Singers, writers, dancers, stall holders, NHS staff, visitors, volunteers, the League of Friends and more…Children visited Santa across the afternoon and loved having a chat and receiving gifts.Cllr Adam Dance opened the event and presented the LoF Chair with a donation from a kind supporter.SomerSingers Acappella Group enhanced the festivities with well loved Christmas tunes.Eastern Promise Dance Troupe entertained the crowd as they shimmied, twirled and sparkled with gusto!The ladies created quite a stir and many onlookers were rapt throughout their spectacular performance.If Matron [right] felt like she was in a surreal fantasy rather than her hospital, it didn’t show!Event organiser, Shirley, enjoyed trying her hand at being a wine diviner – sparkly rod essential. Happy visitors!The annual raffle was a huge success and the tickets flew off the sheets.Raffle prizes were generously donated from all sorts of local people and businesses.Hand made festive tasty delights!
Well, this photo essay barely scratches the surface of the activities that took place. In the next article we’ll focus on the fantastic experience that visitors had outside the hospital!
