New beds to aid recovery

We are delighted that three new beds funded by the League have arrived at the hospital and are already in use by patients recovering from strokes.

These beds are intended to help prevent falls as their height can be adjusted to just 22cm from the ground. In addition, the beds have electrically operated backrests, height and knee break, as well as an extendable mattress platform length for taller patients.

The beds are a higher specification than regular hospital beds. The League of Friends has funded them as we are determined to provide as much support as we can to make the experience of being in hospital better for the hospital’s patients and staff. These beds are more comfortable and safer for patients recovering from stroke.

Thanks to all those people who support the League of Friends and therefore help us to help our community.
