Today we collected the donation drum that stands on the counter of A&J Winter in South Petherton. It was heavy, so we eagerly anticipated unlocking the drum. The mountain of coins added up to £30.14!

On Sunday April 21st, one of our trustees will be running in the London Marathon to raise funds for the Stroke Association. Anyone driving around South Petherton and Kingsbury Episcopi will no doubt see this vision of athleticism on her training run – spare a wave and a smile!

You never need use a plastic carrier bag again as you can buy one of our eco-friendly jute bags at the hospital. They are long-term investments that never disappoint.

The Trustees of the League of Friends wish you all a peaceful Christmas and New Year. We have worked hard to support the hospital community across 2023 and look forward to continuing our activities in 2024.

Access to good quality health services is a determinant of health, so too are positive relationships with friends and communities. The Christmas Fair at South Petherton Community Hospital certainly showed people sharing the best of times. A BIG THANK YOU to the wonderful team who organised the event with so much energy, creativity and commitment!

No sooner had the leg press arrived than it was in use! This new equipment will help the hospital’s excellent physiotherapists to further support patient recovery.

What a fabulous community! At the South Petherton Carnival AGM, the trustees generously donated funds they raised at this year’s dynamic carnival, to a number of local groups. It was wonderful for the League of Friends to receive their donation – and be assured that we will use it to contribute to the health and wellbeing of the hospital community.
